Hello;

Would anyone of the tech savvy folk in here know if the BRP Garmin 660 mount will work with a Garmin 665? are they one in the same?

Thanks

Barry

I believe the only difference between the two is the SiriusXM in the 665. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

No. Lamont had that issue when he got his Garmin 665 thinking that the port would work. They are two separate model numbers. I went thru that myself.

Correct. The 665 needs a antenna to receive the satellite signal. This is why it only works with it's own port/harness.

so bottom line I should take my 665 and skip to BRP adjustable mounting kit listed below:

Spyder RT 2013 and prior, RS, ST 2013

Mounting kit for Garmin Zumo 660 with adjustable support that fits on all 2013 stock handlebars and prior Spyder RT models
The support conveniently swivels to offer the right position for all riders or light conditions
Includes casting, electric harness, rubber boot and hardware
GPS sold separately

Color: Carbon black

is that correct my 665 will not work on this mount? sorry for most likely repeating what you stated I just want to make sure I am understanding this correctly :opps:

thank you

Are you talking about the BRP mount? The Garmin harness comes with the 665 and will bolt up to the mount from BRP.The cable including the antena runs normal path. They put my antena for XM under my dash some place. You still need the BRP harness to hook up either Garmin model. My 665 works jst fine. Bob

One works with both the 660 and the 665. I THINK all new 660 are being sold with the 665 compatible harness, I know my 660 came with the part number that is compatible with the 665 and I got it almost 2 years ago.

I'm getting ready to hook up my 665 on the Spyder without the GXM 40 XM head (otherwise known as "The Puck"). The existing cradle and harness are hardwired into my HD Ultra so I'm ordering a new cradle and harness from Garmin to install on the Spyder. Can someone clue me in on whether or not I can plug my audio 'out' cable jack from the Garmin harness into the Spyder radio system without ordering a special harness to bridge between the two?
