• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

FYI or not for NYS riders

Are they trying to say that motorcycles require an EZ-PASS different from a car? I have 2 EZ-PASS's, and as far as I am aware they can be used on any one of my vehicles as long as I have them registered on each of my accounts.

i also got a ez pass last year for the spyder and it's a totally different shape then the square one
for the car. never showed them a copy of mc reg.

I just went through this last week..............

It's a real pain in the azz. :banghead: You have to make a written request via mail or fax, and include a copy of your motorcycle registration. You CAN'T acquire a motorcycle EZ pass online anymore with this new policy. This is just a antiquated way of doing things, they will not accept any documents via email.................

This sucks for people upstate, because the nearest walk in center is hours away from us.

5 total walk in EZ pass centers, and 4 of them are in NYC.......:gaah:

I'll just mount it in my glove box or under the hood that covers my 2,384 cc's.

There were no issues when I added the Spyder to my account.

Maybe it's because motorcycles can pay a lesser fee and people were abusing it by saying "suuuuure I have a motorcycle" but really using it in a car. The way I read the web site was the lesser fee was meant for people that commuted on a bike and only on the Thruway. See https://www.e-zpassny.com/en/about/plans.shtml and scroll down to Vehicle Discount Plans.

The "motorcycle EZ Pass" is half off the toll when used on the N.Y.S. Thruway. It must have the "M" on the back. Well worth it if you use the Thruway a lot. Tom :spyder:

Bummer..!!

Still not enough toll roads out here to merit a pass, they do have them. The issue here is that they are eliminating all forms of payment on site. After you use the toll road you have to go online and make your payment...:banghead::banghead: where else but CA...:banghead:

i have one for the bike and one just for the car. the one for the bike has a M on it

Mine too. Considerably smaller than a regular EZpass. I just requested it on the EZpass website and registered my license plate (trailer plate too) & it showed up in the mail 5 days later. No other documentation necessary, so this is a change. Wonder why?
