• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How many SL members have altered their Spyders Intake ,Exhaust and Cat Converter and have not had to add a fuel management system to the bike.just trying to figure out which route if any should I take . Thanks in advance for your help in this matter...Ps my baby is a 2012 RT Ltd Se5:banghead::banghead:

The electronic management system will adjust for just about whatever you throw at it. I've run Juice box and Power Commander on my 2008 GS. Power Commander with auto tune was far superior to juice box.
On my 2012 RT I ran the JT intake system but it really got too loud for my taste. Never added anything extra to it. Pulled it off before I traded it in.

It will adjust to a point, but any electronic fuel injection system reaches a limit to how far it will adjust. Seat of the pants estimate on the 2012 998 was about 10%. So, based on my mods, I started bumping up against the Bank 2 Lean code (rear cylinder), depending on the weather and brand of gas. Front cylinder stayed in spec. The Power Commander is the only system that will work on the 2012 998. Juice Box is obsolete now, and would not work correctly anyway because it didn't intercept the signal from the O2 sensor. Unless you plan on spending a lot of time running at high RPM and high throttle settings, the Auto Tune wouldn't really be necessary, since you are only going to be accepting the trim values from it in the open loop area of the map. The Power Commander still maintains closed and open loop operation of the on board system.

Big picture, if you want to be successful with the Power Commander and understand what it's doing and how it's interfacing with the on board system, spend some YouTube time learning about fuel maps, open and closed loop operation of the fuel injection system, and the operation of short and long term fuel trim. It doesn't matter if they're talking about cars, trucks, or bikes - since the advent of the 3-way catalytic converter, it's all about the same.

Appreciate the info I hope it'll adjust itself with no major problems

Depends....

How much you do and how much you like it. I have a 2012 RS with yoshimura R77 pipe, JT's air system with a K&N filter, ram air to the filter and rear cylinder, irridium plugs with high tension wires and no controler. It is manual and i can control ghe popping though i don't mind it at all. I do not know how the semi auto model does but it never misses a beat...

Edit: And I certainly don't want to make the whole thing sound overly complicated, because it's not. It's just that the 998 in the RT is a fully independent two channel system that appears to be a little less forgiving that the other models. And so as you understand what the PC is doing and how the on board system is reacting, then you'll really know what's happening and how you can tweak the PC map or O2 Optimizer for best performance. And unless you're racing, you don't need a dyno. It actually becomes kinda fun.
