• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

frunk weather stripping?

What did BRP having in mind when they installed the weather stripping on a Spyder frunk? I reglued it once and it is falling off again so I ordered a different style replacment from Spyderpops. Has anyone else tried the Spyderpops trunk seal? It HAS to be a better product than the OEM seal which has almost no chance of staying in place. I also ordered one of the Spyderpops belt guards. Seems like this should have been something added to the Spyder from the factory as well. I hope it is effective.

I've had no issues with my OEM seal. Did you try pulling it off and pinching the "C" shaped part together a bit with your fingers along the length of the seal. That should tighten up the "grip".

Many have complained about the exact same problem. So you're not alone. But I have never had a problem. I have wondered why the difference.

I also had a problem with mine coming off. I went around it and re-squeezed everything, and haven't had a problem since.

Mine leaks pretty badly. Going to ask the dealer about this.

Mine has no C shape. It is just an oval piece of seal that was glued to the rim of the frunk. Nothing to squeeze. It just perches on top; held in place by the smallest dab of adhesive.

Mine came off and couldn't be re-glued. Replaced it with the spydepops seal. it is a little thicker and goes on tighter. Works great.

Oh, mine isn't glued anywhere. It is crimped around the lower edge.

Had mine replaced under warranty but as that expires soon guess if it fails again it will be on me and I "most certainly" won't be replacing it with an OEM unit.

Mine was more of a warranty fix

The oval seperated from V grip, no leak fyi but hot days it would stick to lid & was annoying to put back on everytime I opened frunk. Reading post above some people may call the grip part C , older modles I dont know. Mine 2013STL the seal helps hold my trunk liner on.

The lone time that the seal of mine popped loose...

...It was self-inflicted! :opps:
Otherwise; it's been nothing but "Beer & Skittles".

I load a laptop brief case in and out of my Spyder every day and I have to check the rubber every time especially if the frunk lid wont close on it's own weight.

After 2+ years mine has also started to separate or split like Bfromla.
Mine was never glued, crimped or anything (2011 RTS).
Also my liner is now starting to tear near one edge.

Look folks, this is a wear and tear item. But getting/finding a better solution WILL BE ON MY LIST :)
I have a feeling BRP is not making these but sourcing this from some common weather stripping manufacturer. Pretty sure a trip to Lowe's or Home Depot will turn something up.

The U shaped part of the seal on my bike is fine. There is a circular cross-section piece of light weather seal glued to the U shaped bit. There is little to no chance the circuilar weather seal will remain glued. Just a miserable idea to my mind. It isn't damaged in the least and could be re-glued yet again but I see Spyderpops has a replacement that is supposed to fit around the U shaped inner seal. The outer seal needs some sort of mechanical lock just like the car makers use. This is not a complaint and I hope over time Can-Am can start getting these fit and finish items a bit more under control. Once they have mastered fit and finish on the Spyder, the Spyder will jump in sales position.

Went to the Spyderpops site and ordered a new seal.

This is the condition of old seal. Yeah, could have tried gluing again but I did it once a thousand miles previously and it lost its hold.

This is the Spyderpops seal. Took about 5 minutes to pull off old seal and install new one. Hope it lasts longer than the BRP seal!
