• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Fox Shocks and Laser Align Question

I would say yes. I installed Fox Shox. I did measurements before and after. I did not adjust preload on the Fox Shox but could have to lower the front back to the same laden ride height which would require no front alignment.

Difference by installing the Fox Shox raised the unladen RTS by 10mm.

The difference of the Spyders front end toe in with a rider seated changed from 1/16" with stock shocks to 3/8" toe in with Fox Shox.

The Fox Shox springs are firmer and the increased laden ride height added 5/16" toe in which far exceeds the typical amount.

Tough one...

Depending on how long ago you had the alignment done. The fox shocks are not as radical as the Elkas and RaceTec shocks. I have an alignment done every year (Squared Away) and has always needed an adjustment. I would think you would be fine. I changed to the fox shocks but had also replaced the rear tire so can't say one or the other made the difference. I would re-do it if it has been a while....jmo if it's good they should not charge you...

ALIGNMENT QUESTION

IMHO , you should ask SpyderAnn and /or Captjam ...... they are alignment specialists........ The toe-in is determined by the ride height when loaded...... IT DOES VARY - and always will ...... there is no getting around this ...... BRP designed the front suspension with an ALLOWANCE for this constantly CHANGING FACTOR ( there is no adjustment for Camber or Caster ).........SquaredAway has done many hundred's of LAZER alignments and I would discuss it with them......... If the shocks are adjusted to the same ride height, your alignment will not change. Its the change in ride height that can change the alignment with spring and shock change.

If the shocks are adjusted to the same ride height, your alignment will not change. Its the change in ride height that can change the alignment with spring and shock change.

The same ride height with a rider onboard and positioned where they normally would ride the machine.

Static ride height unladden will become invalid since the new shocks will, in the case of Podiums, have a firmer spring, which will increase the dynamic ride height if the static ride height were same as original.

Any change in dynamic ride height outside of a small window will alter not only toe in / toe out, but also changes camber angles which can not be adjusted to obtain good alignment at the increased height.
