• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

For Whom the Bell Tolls...

A friend (fellow SpyderLover) sent me a Guardian Bell, which I received the other day. I did not put it on the day I got, opting instead to wait for the weekend.

Today, I closed my garage door and caught the antenna, shattering it in several place. I ordered a new chrome shorty to replace it.

So, the moral of the story is:

Don't Ignore the Power of the Guardian Bell

and

Put it on THE DAY YOU RECEIVE IT !!

Damn Gremlins!

I'm sorry that the Gremlins got to you before you had a chance to mount up your Bell. :gaah:
But at least it was only an antenna; it coulda been worse!

Bell?

Hi!
I always carry a couple of extra bells in case I meet someone who doesn't have one... can't be too careful:pray:

We have two. We bought one, before we realized they were supposed to be given to you. So we bought one for a friend and they soon after sent us one. The only thing we haven't done is mount them low. I have then tied to the right side handle bar. I know there has been much discussion about where they should be mounted but they are working for us!!! (Knock on wood)!!!!!

I've got a bear bell a friend gave me on a New England road trip a couple years ago. Have it mounted up front and have not seen a single bear gremlin yet. Must be working.

They are a great compliment to receive one... but I didn't have too much luck with mine on my two-wheel.

Went down with two bells on my bike on a road covered with a farmer's herbicide over-spray. For those that do not know, the herbicide has a surfactant that makes the weed-killer stick to the ground and remain water resistant. The surfactant is slick as snot.

Both wheels immediately had negative traction and it took all of 45 feet to go down.

Hey... I survived, and the bike is better than new now... and I still have the Gremlin Bells hanging from it... even though they let me down once.

For me... it is more the "thought that counts".

Used to have one--- it jumped off bike......

I'll trust the technology of the bike and the engineers that designed it instead.....;)
