• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

For the Dragon Lovers

I did the dragon in June 2015 with my Indian Chieftain I had at the time. 2 buddy's of mine were also with me. It was a blast but we all thought the Devils triangle was steeper and more challenging.

The Dragon

is fun. It reminds me of some of the roads here is southeastern Ohio and West Virginia. Only difference is the Dragon is paved :roflblack:

I have been doing the dragon anywhere between 1-3 times a year for the past 8 years. This year, we decided to change locations for our annual bike trip from Maggie Valley to Stauton, VA. We will be in the area in April for our couples trip and again in October for the spyder rally. Either way, I am looking forward to doing it again.

Too busy and way to many people that don't know how to stay in their lane for me. There are just as good roads that aren't near as busy.

I live in North Georgia and I agree. It has been ruined by it's popularity. I think it is a good place to stay away from. This area is loaded with great paved, roads to be enjoy in relative solitude. Enjoy!

DRAGON'S TAIL

To answer Bob's question, It's not to bad If you do It through the week, I've done the tail at least a dozen times but never on the weekend, my buddy and I try to catch It on Mon. or Tuesday..

We rode it Labor Day weekend, on Saturday, at 7:00 am. Only saw a few others each way.

Get out there first thing in the morning, and you're good. Do all the other area roads the rest of the day. Moonshiner 28 is a better road in my opinion.

Thanks! I'm trying to figure out a ride for next Summer, that puts me on the Rattler, and the Dragon! :D
Come in October for the spyder rally. I would be glad to guide you through those and other great roads in the area.

PS, I will also be in the area the last week of April with the wife for a little get away. But that time I will be taking it at a slower pace, per her request.

I agree that you should try to run the Dragon on a weekday, and as early as possible in the morning. Less Po Po around so you can go faster. Moonshiner 28 is also a good road to run, and it meets up with the Dragon at Deals Gap. Lots of great roads in this area.
