Don't know if you are still working on this but just in case your are and run into a problem it might be because of below:
I just read from another user of this controller that he had to send the unit back to SPAL for reprogramming in order for it to work with Spyder fan:
"the fan voltage was tripping the controller and saying it couldnt recognize it.. I had to send my unit to SPAL and have them flash the diagnostic/voltage check out of it since our fans are so small compared to what this controller normally talks to.."
The plug n play unit I am getting already is programmed uniquely for the Spyder.
