John passed away this morning at age 85 ....... To me He was the face and heart of football .... After He retired and began His broadcasting career, I would watch games JUST BECAUSE He was doing the color commentary, even if I didn't like either team ..... sending prayers to His family ..... He was the most amazing broadcast personality ever. The guy seemed to be able to see everything happening on the field all at once. More often than not he saw more than all of the refs combined.

The documentary "All Madden" was rebroadcast tonight. I missed it when it was originally aired on Christmas. They indicated that he watched it on Christmas with family and friends. What a fitting tribute to a great person and coach..... Jim
