• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Foglight Nacelle Question?

This has probably been discussed a hundred times. Does temporarily removing the foglight nacelles improve airflow under the Tupperware? :dontknow: I remember someone suggesting putting small fans in the nacelle pods. Did this ever pan out, and was it considered a non workable idea? :dontknow:

Did see..!!

a post showing turbo fans in the fog light location with hoses to front and rear cylinder areas. He stated this has helped a great deal with the heat issue. Also saw pic's of scoops on the upper panel below mirrors on RS/GS forcing air down on the upper engine compartment. Can be done and has to help..how much:dontknow:

It might be a little bit unsightly; but it can't help but put more cooling air down into the belly of these beasts!

Would it be worthwhile to resurrect this post/idea, or are we beating a dead horse? :bdh:

Can you find that post?

That horse is already pretty tender...
But if you want to take a look at the possiblites that could be done to the inlet area to make it more visually appealing; go for it!

I guess my question is "Can air enter through the Nacelle slot into the engine area? I used to be pretty decent in Visio and Autosketch. (am I dating myself as old or what?) I don't have it on my Mac. I might be able to take some Spyder pictures and scan them in, then literally cut and paste.

On a side note, I'm contemplating going back to work part time so I can buy an ST. I have the funds already, but My wife won't budge on " too much money for a toy" We just celebrated 40 years so I think she'll keep me, though. :roflblack::roflblack:

40 years huh... Yeah; she ain't throwing you back after all this time!
Remember the mantra of the damned; "It's better to beg for forgiveness, than to ask for permission!" :D

and of course; opening up those foglight holes couldn't help but let air down into the bellywork of the bike! :2thumbs:
The trick might be in making sure that it exits where you want it to...
