• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

foglight help!!

I purchased a foglight kit from someone and was installing them last weekend only to get to the point of installing the switch. No switch. I can understand the switch not being sent 'cuz if the person took it off it would leave a hole in the console. I've searched the parts list and couldn't find a breakdown for the switch so I called my dealer who told me the foglights are only sold as a set and you can't order individual parts!:gaah:
I saw Scotty's post about the problem he had when his console had to be replaced and I'm getting a really bad feeling about this...

Any suggestions/ideas on what I can use in place of the BRP switch or who I could contact to get one? And if you have suggestions on an alternate part please give me detailed instructions :D

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

BTW, this site is GREAT with instructions b/c I did the HID lights without any problems and the foglight instructions were just as helpful....until I got to the switch.

Dang. :gaah: I was looking for a post that I did a little while back. We installed a couple things using switches we got from an auto parts store. I'll look for it. One of the things was a second radiator fan installed behind the spider web on the right side. I actually like the switch better, as it is much obviouser when it is on or not. Not home till Friday - can find and repost then . . . .

Radio Shack has small, round plastic rocker switches that are similar to the BRP ones... like this one:

duoh!

Ok, everyone say together "Rena is a moron." I went out today to look at the harness, etc. so I could see what kind of connector end I'd need to match up for the switch when I went to Radio Shack....well the switch is already connected to the end. :opps: What a moron I am! I obviously got ahead of myself on the instructions and didn't really inspect everything. Duoh!:cus::banghead::banghead::banghead: But thanks ataDude and jnt for the information and I'll file that away for future reference. I guess this is why people like me should always just go to the dealer! Now it looks like I have another project to finish.....

Sounds like me when I was installing mine. During the step to attach the wires to the connector, I realized that I put the wires in backwards! :gaah:
I had to work the clip out very carefully to undo my mistake. That took about an hour of :cus: at myself! I was finally able to correct the error and get back on track without doing any permanent damage to me or the :spyder2:!
