There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Fog light replacements?

I'm looking to mount driving lights in the locations where BRP shows their fog lights should go. Does anyone know if there is a supplier out there with such lights? I've been looking through almost all the online vendors and can't seem to find anything.
Thanks.

Why?

Get HIDs for headlights...you'll have more light than you'll ever need. It's also better visibility to leave the BRP fog lights in. If you ever use them in 'real fog', the yellow light will cut better than the bright white light, which will tend to reflect back at you.

If your going with after market fog lights i wouldn't mount them where BRP shows, Mount them lower, If ? your going to use them as actual fog lights they should be mounted low and pointed down. And white will cut though fog better than yellow, Yellow will just defuse the light back at you . If your just putting them on for cosmetics , Then the color or where you mount them doesn't really matter. :dontknow:

I have a set of lights from this store. http://stores.intuitwebsites.com/hstrial-QualiRegResou/StoreFront.bok
I really like them. I have the 3 mode lights which they don't sell anymore. I have them set on the middle mode since they are too bright to run on high in traffic. Lots of mounting options and they have a yellow lens cover available, if you want that. Good quality lights. Since they are LED, they use less than 2 amps each.
Here's thread on the ADVrider forum that will tell you more than you need to know about them. http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=607184

I would mount lights somewhere else and leave the fog light holes empty. With the holes empty you get more air to the motor and to me that is a plus. :2thumbs:

OK Stormtrooper, you hit the nail on the head. Leave the "fog light" openings open for air flow. And mount the driving lights lower. Just want more lights up front, not necessarily fog lights.

I installed the LED Day Runner Pucks and are very happy with them as a extra light in the front. They are low on spyder and look factory.

The dayrider lights mounted on the a-frame bars are a nice add on for front visability. I have a set on my RTS.

Really....how much more air? The front of the bike is by no means air tight....there is plenty of air that gets through the bike.

The BRP fog light location is perfect, IMHO...I wouldn't go HID there though...yellow light is more penetrating if you ever really do encounter fog...

If you look in where the fog lights would be you can see AS MUCH AS THE SKY IS BLUE that more air is reaching the motor.Plus other people have said the same so how much more air MORE WITHOUT THE FOG LIGHTS.

I understand that but what proven effect does the extra air from the holes where the fog lights should be give you? What tangible change is there? I think the notion that the extra air through the fog light hole makes a positive change to something is simply speculative. I think the fog lights placed where they likely look and function best (in the fog light hole) makes more sense than worrying about more air flowing through the holes, especially because nobody can really measure the air flow changes and what effect it may (or may not) have...

It does not have to be proven it is a fact that more air circulating around and to a motor is a good thing not a bad thing. Like I said you are getting more air without the fog lights there but o wait you have the fog lights so you can not look and see what I am talking about. Also I like your post #2 on this thread WHY leave it to bone crusher for a negative post on your thread they are all over Spyder Lovers WHY WHY NOT its dshogmans spyder and he can do what he wants help him out not a WHY answer.

My reply in #2 made sense...you shouldn't need driving lights where your fogs are. If you have brighter headlights, this is no longer a concern.

As far as more air to the engine, my disagreement with your opinion is not meant to be negative...I'm just questioning as there's no proof that the holes where the fog lights are permits more air to make anything run more efficiently. On the other hand, the fog light holes are a great place for fog lights...
