• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. One & the Same (sort of)

Looks to me like we are one and the same, except we are broken into subsets (the sane group, and the insane group).. Sane rides up to 600 miles per day, insane rides non-stop except for fuel to any location, any distancenojoke

My understanding is, there are many Huligans. But this particular group of Huligans is called the Florida Express. This differentiates our beloved Huligans from your run of the mill Huligans.

If I've got this wrong please, someone straighten me out!

That's about right. If we told you more, we'd have to kill you.......:roflblack:

Florida Express came first I believe, but they certainly had a strong influence in the creation of the Huligans.

There are huligans from various other states in our great nation. Some from MN, MI,IL,IN,FL and a few more I'm probably forgetting. They tend to be on the move quite a bit so as to fly under the radar (literally--:roflblack:).

I'm sure this group will be bigger after Spyderfest in MO -----

Florida express is the first 5 that made the ryde to Cuba last year. Doc, Forrest mike, wheeler and myself. once there, we became the HULIGANS, Florida chapter. Look for the flags this year to see us out in full force.:ohyea::ohyea::ohyea:

Hhuuummmm i see so the Florida express has grown a bunch since last year, and has founded the huligans!!! :doorag: so we have the Florida xpress, mogang, and huligans, there has to be more new and old groups out there. Just trying to stay curent. Need to know all the lol gangs, o and can't forget the RT5! now there's a group:2thumbs:

It was my understanding that the term Huligans was first used in a video by Lamont (you can see it on the Spyderfest page) referring to all the performance testing that was happening in front of CowTown. In that particular video, Doc has me beat by a large margin. But I was able to recover and take Firefly to gain a little pride. I think Dan and I are 1-1. Anyway, sometime after that Doc had Huligan T-shirts made and as they way, the rest is history.

Which came first the Chicken or the egg? Reaching deep in my memory bank I believe it is as follows. The Term Missouri express started when the Missouri group started planning to escort DLTang and BJT across Mo on their way to the owners event in LA. BMWGene which has evolved to RTGene had talked about the Pony Express during our 1st USO Run a month or so earlier and that is where the Express started. Florida Express came about we they formed up and made a run on Cowtown for Spyderfest 2010. I agree with Deb the 1st use of the term Huligan was from Lamonsters video. At some point we became the Mo Gang (I think Len came up with that). Correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe Gene can correct me since he has a much more experienced memory than me.

The Chicken of course... When the Lord made the earth and all things thereon in 6 days and rested on the 7th, he did not feel that waiting for 21 more days for the egg to hatch was in his best interest, so the chicken came first.:joke::roflblack:

The Mulligans

I have been following this discussion closely. I'd very much like to be a Hulligan but am a bit timid though Forest is my IDOL. Being slightly older than I am, I admire his spunk (that's a word us old guys will understand).

So, what do I do? I can't be a Hulligan but I want to be someone of note. My dad used to say: "When the rest won't do it, you do it." With that in mind I've decided to start a group called the Mulligans.

There are some good reasons why this group and this name are important. First, I don't live in FL, ain't crazy, am not fast anymore and didn't go to Cuba last year (remember what Groucho Marx said: "I don't care to belong to any club that will have me as a member"). Also, as golfers know, a "mulligan" is a second chance and many of us old-timers have said that the Spyder has given us a second chance to ride. So, that fits. Third, it's close enough to the name "Hulligan" to make us feel as if we are almost a part of that group.

I have even selected an appropriate mascot -- a mule. Why mule? Well, it is strong, ugly and just a little dumb which pretty much sums up a lot of us old guys if the truth were told.

You need to get the right pronunciation of "mulligan". It's mule-igan fitting our mascot. I want to be precise here because I remember the many posts on how you say "Hulligan".

So, what do you think? A fine collection of old folks just a bit on the downward side of the hill but still deserving of a second chance, though still strong though ugly and a little dumb.
