Florida BRP Extended Warranty

New member
I am having difficulty getting information on a BRP extended warranty for my 2011 Spyder RT. My dealer stated that because of Florida insurance regulations he cannot offer the STD BRP warranty and has a different underwriter. Anyone in Florida know if this is true?

Thx....dave

This is Bryce over here at Bert's....yes it is true that any BRP dealers in Florida are NOT able to sell the BRP BEST extended warranty however, since they are a BRP service center they have to honor it. You can purchase the BEST warranty out of state and it will be valid in the state of Florida. I have sold the BEST warranty to spyderlovers in Florida and from what I know none of them have had any problems.
If you need pricing...look under the "Supporting Vendors Forum" my pricing is listed there. Please let me know if I can help you....thanks! - Bryce ([email protected])

My dealer pushes the ...

... RPMOne contract. Would you care to respond to that? I'm trying to make an informed decision ... And I bought my Spyder on June 1 so that $75 surcharge plays into my decision. Care to comment on the rationale for the surcharge??

No games here ... Just asking for an honest response..

tnx ... thehawk

Also interested in anyone's experiences with RPMOne. My dealer indicated they didn't offer the BEST warranty (although I'm sure it's more a matter of them getting a better financial deal with RPMOne), so I took what they had. Sounds okay on paper but interested to hear from anyone who's used them, any issues with other dealers, etc.

2 yrs.- $1189 - After 60 days (see below) + $150 = $1339
3 yrs.- $1449 - After 60 days (see below) + $225 = $1674

As far as the RPM One extended warranty I have nothing to comment. Our dealership doesnt sell it so I dont know what it covers versus what it does or even what the cost is on it. I know a lot of dealers offer that as an aftermarket warranty however, we dont sell it we only sell the BEST (manufacturer) or Western (aftermarket) for our Spyder customers.
The only reason I would go with the BEST instead of the aftermarket warranty is because I not only have dealt with customers who cannot get the aftermarket warranty company to cover some stuff that would normally be covered, they sometimes cannot find a dealership that honors it. (especially when your traveling)
I have also heard many things on here that some people have a hard time getting the aftermarket warranty company to cover certain things that the BEST would normally cover. It is totally a personal choice of yours...I know I would purchase something from the manufacturer versus saving a couple bucks to purchase the aftermarket warranty and end up spending more in the end because it doesnt cover as much....just my opinion.
Also, the $75 surcharge after 60 days it totally a BRP thing...not a dealer thing...we dont implement that surcharge to the customer BRP does, and if we dont charge the customer, they charge us...and at the pricing we are currently doing for the BEST we cannot afford to take that hit.

Let me know if this helps in any way....hope you all have a great day, and ride safe!

I went with the BPD BEST warranty because I know that any Can-Am Spyder dealership will honor it. I don't have to worry when I am on a long trip.

Diff between Best and Best Plus?

I have a brochure my dealer gave me and the only diff I can see is the first 600 mile service and "annual maintenance". What does annual maint entail?

Secondly, is the remaining Best Warranty transferable when I sell?

Yes the BEST is transferrable when you sell it.

Another 3rd party warranty

My dealer is trying to sell me one called Star Sport through Interstate Warranties. Anyone ever heard of them?

If you live in Florida and only have a florida address how can one purchase the best policy out of state?

I bought my Spyder in Florida. I did not purchase the extended warranty at that time, but before the year warranty was up I contacted Bryce at Berts and purchased an extended warranty. We did the transaction by mail, very easy to work with them. IIRC there was a post from someone complaining about the price, but they had not contacted Bryce about the Spyderlovers price. I did get the SL discount.

How much do you charge for that Best Warranty? I went to your website but didn't see it on there. You can PM me if you don't want to publicly post it.

Pam
DISREGARD THIS POST. I SHOULD HAVE LOOKED AT THE PREVIOUS POST WHERE YOU PUT THE PRICES. SORRY.
