Orbital Blue RT-SE5
Hello,

I wanted to know if anyone has seen an adaptor that plugs into the Ipod input in the trunk, but adapts a USB flash drive to the Ipod input connector.

Thanks

Flash drive into Ipod port

Two difference sources of music.

Just another option.

I have a 30GB Ipod, that sometimes freezes up. or battery goes dead, It has to be charged up.

The USB flashdrive does not need to be charged.

I saw a 1-terabyte flash drive the other day

I have a new 2010 Toyota Prius it has both Ipod & USB capability I use both. I can read the music that is being played from the usb drive while it is playing just like an Ipod.

For people that do not have Ipods, there cheap

A 4GB flashdrive can hold a Lot of music and cost $10-$12 ea they are small three or four could easily fit in a shirt pocket.

I would like to run a cable to the front handlebar area.

Okay, so the stereo has to have the capability to recognize a flash drive and know that there are music files on it. I can see the need for that if the RT sound system supports it.

USB, MP3 and Spyder

I would suggest that you use the MP3 input through a MP3 player with a hefty sized memory stick or SD card. They are available. You can load the songs on your computer but won't be able to change the order of songs or do anything except play through an MP3 player and adjust the volume unless you are stopped and can get to the MP3.

One other option is to plug in the MP3 cord in the trunk and run and extension out of the trunk under the seatup to the front of the seat by the gas filler and run it into the bottom of the glove box. That way you could keep your MP3 player in the glove box on on the side panel next to it with a piece of velcro or a mount.

Flash drive into Ipod port

Hey Mark Lawson,

That adaptor looks very close,

You would need to plud in a USB Flash drive looks like the USB part is the male half.

Since I would plug in a Flash drive in, it would need to be the female USB connector so that the flash drive would plug into that.

Thanks for your help trying to find this adapter.
