Hey folks ...
Well as the title says ... finally got to fit and test run the newly acquired cat delete this afternoon and I must admit I am a pretty happy camper 'thus far'
By my 'my bum's tacho/rev-counter' and 'gutt feel', I reckon the 2017 F3-T is a lot happier and breathing easier....
By the initial instructions I let the machine idle for a good 10 minutes on the initial start up ... in fact, more like 15 minutes. The only interference was the occasional 'little' (less than 3.5K) momentary rev to help the ECU mapping re-adjust a little when things sounded as though a little help was needed.... Then I went for a 20 minute or so test ride varying speeds up to 120Ks / 75MPH or so. But even then only here and there !
In the mean time and as a brief history, I really want to open this little puppy up somewhat. IMO opinion, just sounds and feels a bit congested. Pre-emptively just the other day I threw in a top up of 98 Octane fuel ..... (probably 20 litres / 6 US gallons or so). I know now this was possibly the right thing at the wrong time, and way too soon, as I was thinking of what I wanted to achieve rather than what things were right then there ... idiot!
For the initial test ride today .... mid stroke torque ..... (say under 3k) ... Things still felt a bit restricted (IMO) .... So .... I still need to free-up the air intake as well before getting everything professionally remapped !~ .... BTW ... I'm still running the stock BRP muffler, which IMO again doesn't sound too bad or feel that inhibited ... I'll have to have a closer look at that as well before the remapping.... Only time will tell ...
Tomorrow I'm starting to attack and hopefully free up for a cold air intake ... I am hoping all this makes sense ! Again, the 'seat of my pants tacho' says I am heading in the right direction .... but each to their own!
