There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. First service on my 2013 RT

Took my RT in for the first service which was the initial 600 mile oil change and inspection service. I was afraid it was going to be crazy expensive, but it was $280. So far the byke has about 820 miles on it and I couldn't be any happier.

The only issue was a possible wonky right turn signal. They said it was intermittently acting up, but we opted to just watch it and see what happens.

I'm hoping to have a good relationship with this dealer because they are closest to me.

With all of the complaints that pop up in here; it's great to hear a nice report about a dealer!
Thanks!

Good point. Websites tend to be complaint depositories and generally give a poor view of the product. There are a lot of Spyders out there that run perfectly and bring happiness to their owners. Remember the 'Silent Majority.'

I have a 2011 RTS that runs like a rabbit.

The left multiswitch was replaced under warranty on my 2013 RT because the button would stay stuck in right turn position. This was with a very few thousand miles on the bike.

I haven't got any feedback here that the $280 was outrageous, so I think that's good!
The first service should be a lot more involved than just an oil change... A good shop will spend a couple of hours checking the bike's components, so $280 seems pretty reasonable.

My 2015 RT limited was done yesterday, 3000 miles service, $318.00, got home and the right mirror was flopping around, I grab it and it wasn't on securely, called the dealer and told him that I had my bike serviced and now the right mirror was loose, he said to bring it back, long story short, the Can am tech broke the mirror retaining clip, the service manager had to fix it, got home and checked the tire pressures and found that he had put 31 in the front and 32 in the back, really. What do you folks think, should I ever use these folks again?

Ride safe!

I think it would have been better if they didn't try to hide it. If the tire pressures were that wrong, I would think that the can-am tech needs more training. I'm not sure what your situation is, but at this dealer (which is not where I bought my RT) there is one tech that works on can ams. I'm hoping to build a friendly, long term relationship. * fingers crossed *

i am not a mechanical person.

i dont think there are nearly as many complaints about the spyder on this site as there is about dealers! i would be pretty pissed that a $318 service which basically consists of changing the oil and a bunch of "checks" that they would let it out the door with a broken mirror and tires that high. Thats about the pressure you put in sport bike tires and sounds like the tech didnt know any better. Makes you wonder if they actually did any of the "checks" you paid for, my guess would be no. Dealers have replaced actual service with "checks" to make up for the money they have lost from vehicles needing service less. You used to have to tune up your car and replace plugs at 25-30k now you can go 100 without a tune up. I took my new car in with 15,000 miles and they wanted 500 for the "service" which included oil change, cabin filter change and a bunch of "checks" i told them to just replace the oil and the cabin air filter and still overpaid for that at like $120

Yea me too

I took my wife's car to an Oil Can Henry oil change place. As part of their checks, they told me my Hepa-Canbin filter was missing and asked if I wanted them to replace it. I asked how much that was going to cost and they told me $60.00 bucks. I figured that by this time we had owned the car for about 12 years. If that filter was missing it was missing for the last 12 years.

Since it didn't seem to me that filter was vital to my survival I told them forget it. When I got home I looked up on Youtube how to replace it. You open the hood. Upper left corner of the firewall, disconnect the windshield washer hose to get it out of the way. There's a cover with a screw on it. Loosen the screw, remove the cover, drop the new filter in, close the cover, tighten the screw, connect the washer hose, close the hood. Done. Time was about 4 minutes. Amazon was selling the filter for 8.00 with free shipping for Prime members. So I guess the other $52.00 was labor. Have not been back to an Oil Can Henrys again.

I think a company that would damage a customers vehicle and not own up it has some serious ethical problems. I'm guessing they were hoping you would not notice for a day or so and they could disown any responsibility.

Inexcusable for them to send your :spyder2: back home to you with a broken mirror and overinflated tires. I would have another talk with the manager. If they are going to have substandard mechanics--it's going to be your decision whether to trust your :ani29: to them for service again.
