• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First ride of the season

Its been a long cold winter, but today, 3/1/22. the first day of climatological Spring, had bright blue skies and 54 degrees and I got to get out for the first ride of this season. It felt really good to ride some familiar country roads and the feel of the bike again after 3 months of it sitting covered and dark in the garage. Its all easy sailing from here on. As my 79th birthday approaches I feel especially glad to be on the green side of the grass, and still able to enjoy the wind in my face on my Spyder RT. Life is not perfect, but its good!

I haven't taken mine out down here in Southern Illinois yet, but hope to soon.

Glad to see the first ride report(s) come out. I used to look forward to those when I was in Alaska. One of my earliest rides there was on 3/17. Most years, that first ride was end of March or first couple weeks in April.

The main roads were good at that time, but I lived in the country and had a black ice prone road for about a mile. That always held me back.
