• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First Oil change mileage question....

Is it ok to go over the 3k miles for your first change? I just got back from a ride and at 3.2k right now and can not get to the shop for another week or two. So my question is should I park it, or is it ok to keep riding back and forth from work say 100-200 miles

RIDE BABY, RIDE

IF YOU ONLY NEED TO CHANGE OIL EVERY 9000+ MILES ON A REGULAR BASIS, I'M SURE YOU'LL BE OK TO GO OVER THE 3000 MILE MARK FOR A COUPLE HUNDRED MILES ON YOUR 1st CHANGE....

I did and I'd say ride it, no problem. You could if it makes you feel better, call your dealer and ask, bet they will say the same thing .

I am not finding on your profile which :ani29: you own.

Are we talking about break-in or regular service? 990 engines have break in service at 600 and 1330's at 4,500 or so.

Regular service: 990's at 4,500 intervals and 1330's at 9,000 or once a year--whichever comes first.

Riding past the "recommended" amounts will not destroy your engine unless you try real hard.

Well....

from your referance to the 3,000 will assume you have a 1330 triple. The 3,000 is a point on which you can be over or under. Some have gone wild but a few hundred is no problem...

I called dealer on mine 700 mi over no problem

I love R&R put another dime in the jukebox baby!
