• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

That Guy

First, I would like to say thank you to all who answered my questions and gave me the warm welcome.

Finally received my :spyder2: after a rough 2 week wait. (Powder coating of back rim / sprocket black and black phantom rims up front)

I love riding this thing. I make up excuses to leave.
"Honey, we only have half a loaf of bread. Need to go to the store"

Question, at what RPMs do you like to cruise/shift from. I wonder if im shifting too early. I usually do not shift later than 4K rpms. Your opinion would be helpful.

Also noticed its very sensative steering at speed. Feels like your going to flip. Leaning into the turn seems to take the feeling away.

Side note:who was the nincumpoop that makes a key that you can not put on a keychain?

Here is the pics I promised. Forgive me as my wife lost my camera so had to use the phone POS.

Hope you like the :spyder2:

Peez out!

I shift a 6k RPM's. She is just coming alive then. It won't hurt it, shes designed that way.

Loosen your grip on the bike. And until you get used to it you will feel like your going to flip. A few hundred miles and you won't notice it.

The nincompoop is BRP but you can drill a hole in your key but it has to be in a certain spot. Do a search, there is a thread with pics how to do it. I personally wouldn't put a keychain on it because of scratching your bars up.

By the way nice stock bike. Now the real financial hardship begins with mods. Enjoy your ryde.

:welcome: Congrats on the new addition! I hate the key also. Found a great solution. Lanyard. I wear it aound my neck. My wife wears the other. Great solution if you are on the road and lose a key - you know where the other one is.

:congrats: and :welcome: beautiful ryde....i usually shift aroun 5500,,,, need to use a very light light grip....the spyder is very sensitive to being bullied with a death grip....enjoy the ryde :yes::yes:

Wow... now I feel like I'm shifting too early  I'm shifting between 4500 and 5000 rpm :opps:

Congratulations on your ride... I too am addicted to riding it anywhere and anytime I can. The problem is when you start doing mods, you usually come across a spot where it is just sitting there waiting for you to finally finish something and you can't ride it broke down :sour: I'm there right now!! DAMN :(

:f_spider: on!!

Welcome to the Party!! :2thumbs: Riding to the store with a half loaf of bread left... I like your way of thinking!! :roflblack:
Lamont had the thread about poking a hole through the key... You have to know where to stick the hole because of the chip that's hidden in there... No mistakes!! :yikes::gaah:

The reason why the key has no hole is so that you don't attach the rest of your keys to it, and then have them swinging in an arc below the ignition switch while you drive, and damage everything around said switch.

If you put the key sheath on your keychain and then insert the key into it when you aren't driving, it will function pretty much as the rest of your keys, and will remain attached to your keychain.

:congrats: Very nice!!!!! :2thumbs: :D  I think we all use any excuse to get out and ride!   I remember for the first few weeks after I brought my :spyder2: home, all I did was ride day and night! When I went to bed all I did was dream I was riding! Just couldn't get enough! :roflblack: I do agree that the key without the hole is a bit of an adjustment. I always try to keep good track of the key at all times, but when we were in Maggie Valley last month my husband accidentally lost the sheath! :lecturef_smilie: Now I have a sheathless key! :gaah: Should have had the sheath attached to something. Don't make that same mistake. Meanwhile, hope you have many years of safe & happy riding!!! :doorag:

I usually shift between 6 and 7 thousand rpms.It shifts smoother in that range and keeps you in the power band.I also try to cruise in the 4500 to 5500+ range so I rarely use fith gear under 60mph,this gives you more control for acceleration and engine deceleration when you let off the throttle.:ohyea:
