I see fall colors starting in new England... 10/8

Please post in this thread the date you see fall colors and what region you are in...


Anyone know the best time for Fall colors on Talimena or arkansas area?

We are at moderate color throughout the lower peninsula of Michigan (except maybe right near the lake shores). Peak color is still a week or two away in all likelihood.

we can wait forever and all will still be green...but then we don't have to put our toys in storage...do miss it just the sight part not the raking cleaning slipping and sliding or the gutters...enjoy the sights..!! hyea:

If you are coming to Alaska to see the fall colors--your to late. Sorry~! We were at our peak here a couple weeks ago. Another hurricane strength low pressure system blew through here Sun/Mon. I am now missing two more trees. All the leaves are down, and we are now waiting for the first blanket of white stuff.

FAll Color in New England

HI to all:

Last week in Vermont was full Fall Foliage color.
Very nice time of the of the year. There is some color left on trees. Nice time of the year to ride. ( But dress Warm) From now until the snow flies it is down hill. Until next year, ( spring I can not wait till i get my :spyder2: out of winter storage. ) Deanna777

i was there in August and I know what ya mean. total of 6 degrees change all day and 3 degrees cooler than here in texas.


So Arkansas is probably about a month away then?

We took a ride from Portsmouth to Glocester, MA two days ago. There is still plenty of foliage from the mountains to the sea.

Don't come to Virginia. The Skyline Drive is closed due to the need to make the citizens feel some pain. :gaah:

I was up in the Great Smoky Mtn. Park the last few days. Some color, but the leaves still need a week or so. But the Cherohala Skyway was BEAUTIFUL!! The park is closed, but the road (US 441) from Cherokee to Gatlinburg is open. I stayed in Townsend, Tn. Quaint, small town without the commercialism of Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. If you are in the area, you must see the elk outside of Cherokee. Late afternoon, the elk appear in the pasture at the old homestead museum at the entrance to the GSMP.
