I received my AMA magazine today and they have an article about fake motorcycle news. I think the main thing they wanted to get to was a former AMA employee claiming that the AMA will go broke in July. They use about 2/3 of the article debunking that.
But they also warned that some online articles claimed the AMA helped develop regulations with the US DOT to bar minors from riding as passengers on motorcycles or that 11 states plan to implement a curfew for motorcyclists between 11 pm and 6 am. Both stories are fabricated by fake news websites, but get shared by people who believe them. It turns out it's a scam to gain digital information so marketers can solicit business and generate advertising revenue.
So beware alarming motorcycle news you come across by email or "news" sites.
