• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Fabrication

I'm going to have some work done on my Spyder to achieve a look that resembles my favorite OCC chopper. The Paul Jr. Dream Bike is what I'm going for (http://www.discoverychannel.no/microsites/amerikansk_chopper/galleri/web/index.shtml). The paint job is already scheduled. I can find similar pegs and grips but I need to find somewhere that can fabricate the meshes over the fenders.

Any suggestions on finding a company that'll do small scale custom pieces like that?

That bike really looks good, but those fenders aren't too functional. I really like design. can't wait ti see your bike when it's finished. We need pics.......

I've promised myself to get in a fair amount of riding time before I start making structural changes to ensure I'm aware of the impact of any changes. They want 7 days to paint it so the changes have to wait until fall so it doesn't cut into my riding time.
The fenders certainly aren't functional but I think they're sexy as hell. I'd wager that I'm in a different demographic than most Spyder riders and that might explain my desire to make sweeping ascetic changes. Gotta separate my ride from those you old guys are riding. ;D

I love it. The wilder looking the better. I like to see how creative that Spyder riders can be. That's how a lot of us get ideas and expand on them.

What problems have you had with the function of the fenders? I've been caught in the rain and they seem to control the water spray quite well. In general, the design of the plastics seem quite effcient in keeping you dry.

The stock fenders function fine. We were referring to the replacement fenders I'm looking at.

I really dislike the look of the stock fenders. Speaking for the under 30 crowd, they scream "metamucil". :joke: I'd like something more contemporary and in line with the web theme. Talked to Kewlmetal and they're already working on something. Can't wait to get it on my bike!

The stock fender design goes against the ridge type lines on the Spyder. They should have been made to match the ridge spine that runs along the top of the bike. The rounded look with an in-dent on top just doesn't do it !!
