• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3 Windshield

Question, does anyone know if the blue ridge and/or route 129 windshield use the same mounting holes as the gauge spoiler.
Thanks in advance

sort of

I can only speak about the blue ridge, but I expect it's similar for the other windshield.

When you have the gauge spoiler installed there is a "bar" that goes across the bottom (most forward point) of the railing in front of the gauges and the front of the gauge spoiler kind of hooks onto that, and then there are some screws up at the top (most backwards point) of the railing.

When you have the BR windshield installed, there is a different bar that goes across the bottom of the railing, and the bottom of the windshield attaches to that. There are arms/brackets that come off the upper part of the windshield and go back to the same "top" of the railing location. However, all the screws and mounting hardware is different. It's not like you can just exchange the gauge spoiler for the windshield and think the screws and hardware will work.

I've been switching back and forth between them (takes about 20 minutes to swap them out) and I have a baggy handy for whatever hardware is being removed.

I'm normally not a fan of windshields, but I have to admit that the ride is more comfortable with the BR windshield than the gauge spoiler now that I've swapped back and forth a bit. I find that the pulling up on the helmet with the gauge spoiler in place makes my neck sore if I ride at highway speeds. No such thing with the windshield. Also... after having the windshield installed for a couple of weeks and then swapped back to the spoiler, when I went out in the garage and saw the spyder with just the gauge spoiler installed I thought it looked weird and wrong. I hate to say it, but I might be leaving the windshield on more than I expected.
