• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F 3 front fender Lights

the front fenders , on the rear are just reflectors or are they supposed to light up like running lights??? would think they could be wired in for brake lights as well for better vizability when stopping .

I'm pretty sure that the OE bits are just reflectors, altho there are a couple of aftermarket products that can convert them to clearance lights - check out TricLed or CustomDynamics, there are probably more too!! ;)

Just a word of warning tho, especially if you've been known to ride longish distances at night, it might pay you to test ride a Spyder with lights fitted there; I do so I did, & I'm bloody glad I did!! Having a light there in my low peripheral vision for just a few minutes was bad enough, but after an hour it was un-bearable!! So I've relegated all my 'extra' side & clearance lights to behind me so they don't impinge on my night time vision ahead - & I guess I'm just lucky that my hands/arm block out the white clearance lights on the front of the fenders from all but the occasional glimpse!

They are reflectors and worthless. The advantage to having those lights is, quite frankly, that they make you more visible during the day. We have the amber lights on the sides of the fender and the ones you speak of on the rear of the fender. They cause no issues at night and they make you way more visible during the day. I highly recommend them! We also have them on our RT!

if the lights on the rear of the fenders are visible to your eyes, your pupils will dilate and your night vision may diminish as a result. I didn't realize this until after the purchase of a 2016 ZO6 whose dash and infotainment screens are lite up like a runway! My night vision in that car seemed worse than in our other cars. Dimming the dash way down immediately enhanced my night vision and that makes sense considering the dilation issue. It may sound minor, but with night vision decreasing with age, why make it worse? I don't know if the fender lights actually contribute, but, in theory, they do.

I wouldn't give up having fender lights for anything. I am looking ahead when I'm riding not down at my fenders and it only takes a ride or two at night to get used to having the fenders lit up.

Reflectors only

Reggy and crew of TricLED changed out my reflectors and now I am very visible....worth the investment for safety (and hey looks sharper also!!)

You're absolutely right. You can't beat the front fender lights and those are the first things I added to my Spyder. At night, you don't even notice them.

Hi Diamond Dave, the front white light is stock.
