• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ebay Spring Trunk Instructions LOL

That is INSANE. I was on ebay the other day and saw the spring selling for $18 LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now if it were me, I'd email that Tool and tell him what a :cus: Stunod he is even to attempt to sell it like that. But then again, there could be idiots out there that would actually pay that price.

Capitalism at its finest!

For $5 bucks and the instructions can be yours!

I am curious who the fool (or tool) really is . . .

Is it the buyer or the seller?

Caveat Emptor forever . . .

I don't see the problem with him selling this for what the market will pay. The kit is more than just a spring - has the collar to keep the spring from wandering.

Some folks aren't as handy as others - so for them $25 might be a small price to pay.

Firefly, got to hand it to you for living with the sunny side up!

I agree with Firefly. Sometime it is easier to pay someone to do the work for you than it is to do it yourself.... If you are getting a quality product and a piece of mind, then why knock it. Again, everyone bike is there their own, and they are entitled to do what they want to it. They should be able to spend their money on the mods, they want or what they are comfortable doing.

Personally, I give the guy/gal credit for offering it up for sale, just to accommodate those folks who do not have the time, or do not have the ability to do it themselves. If he/she make a couple of bucks for it. Then, good for them.

Looks like it's the same guy on WestCoastSpyders, Pirate Powersorts. :dontknow:
It's a good gig if you can get it. ;)

Hi Everyone,

New to spyderlovers just got mine used and would like to do the hood mod.

Can someone tell me where I can easily find the parts?
This mod works great and only cost me 50 cents! It should have been OEM! It fits perfectly down INSIDE so it's not visible like the other spring mods.

Rando,

It's funny that you mention it's not visible...how often is anyone going to be evaluating a latch mechanism anyway? I have the spring on the top piece..you on the bottom piece...they serve the same function...although my spring did cost closer to a dollar! hehe! I'll betcha it's 'springier' too!

I have gotten a few more springs that are a bit smaller diameter than the original ones I had used (and given away) and I may try to fit them inside the latch like Rando's suggestion. I will say that my original trunk spring has been working flawlessly for almost two years now.
