• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dumb Question for Today

I've reset trip meter A to zero by pusing ERASE. Then I set the meter to RESUME. But the main display continues to show 0.0 and doesn't compile any miles. The owner's manual is of no help. Am I not pushing a secret button or something???

Thanks in advance...

You need to make sure that your "A" screen is "highlighted" rather than in what I call "shadow mode". Once the screen where you see the "A" is a darker color, it will work. Forgive me if I don't know the right terminology.

Once you zero, you should not need to resume...unless you previously paused it. If the screen says "resume", you are paused, and should resume until the screen reads "pause". Confused yet? Basically, unless you have a need to pause, just press the "clear" button and you will be good to go again. One step process, but I find I sometimes have to press the "clear" button twice.

Joke's on me!

I think, read and comprehend in English. Not Canadian. That was/is the problem. You press ERASE to zero a trip meter and the mileage is reset to 0.0. Then to get the trip meter to start tracking mileage, you have to have PAUSE showing, not RESUME. That's bassackwards where I come from -- when you want something to begin activity you tell it to RESUME. When you want it to stop activity you tell it to PAUSE. Must be the thin air near the polar circle:joke:

Thanks to all for the road-side assistance.

:roflblack: Be glad you didn't have to wade through it in French! :roflblack:

Lol! That had me stymied for a while also... until I applied the old "reverse logic". Now the problem at my age is remembering to use it.

Went to reset the trip meter in my truck yesterday. Changed language to Spanish. I think I will leave it that way just for fun.

Looked at ordering a learn Spanish course today.

when you want something to begin activity you tell it to RESUME. When you want it to stop activity you tell it to PAUSE.
But how can you tell it to PAUSE if it says RESUME? If it's already RESUMEd, they RESUMING again would be redundant. So it must be told to PAUSE before it can RESUME.
I wonder if BRP would like for me to write their manuals for them?:joke:

If PAUSE means GO! and --

RESUME means STOP! in Quebec, what do red and green traffic lights indicate? When you say "No, don't supersize that." do you get a 5-gallon cup of soda and a 6-pound cheeseburger??? I think I best stay away from there. I'm confused enough as it is.

I think the RT owner's manual might be Canadian revenge for the Stanley Cup playoffs :joke::joke::joke:

It may be helpful if you think of the words shown as being part of full sentences. The display is actually asking the questions "Do you want to PAUSE?" or "Do you want to RESUME?" If you think of it that way, it is less confusing. If they showed the current state, instead of the desired state, it would say "PAUSED" or "RESUMED".
