Sadly Passed Oct 2024 - RIP
I recently posted the WET road abilities of my New tires .... Q-5's front and VERY new to Spyders " RIKEN " ..... Well today, after topping off the brake fluid, I went to the two " twistiest " roads I have ever been on..... Road #1 , very, very steep, very very narrow, 2nd 3rd & 4th gear only 4000 to 7000 rpm's needed ..... Road #2, very steep, normal width, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th gears used 3000 to 7000 rpm's ...... To say these tires impressed me is an understatement ... In the past I thought the Stickiest tire ever was the Toyo Proxes T1r was the ultimate ..... no more .... the Q-5's at 165/60 had better traction than the Toyo @ 185/50 size ..... The rear RIKEN ( 215/60-15 ) also had fantastic grip ..... No chirping , zero sideslip etc .... the VSS Nanny lit up some many times I stopped counting, (but only slowed me once) I hit a bump at full acceleration and I seriously think BOTH front tires came off the pavement ..... these tires rock .... 17 psi front & 18 psi rear ...... I Looooooooooooooooooooooove these tires ...... PS the Riken is the least expensive high performance tire made that I've found yet ...... good luck .... Mike
