• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Driver backrest recommendation

Just bought my first Can Am. Got a 2015 RT limited. I have put about 400 miles on it and I have decided I definitely need a backrest.

Please give me some recommendations?

Thanks

Look up Utopia. The 14's and up should have a plug in the seat that the Utopia can be put through. Earlier versions had to be installed through a cut in the seat. Less expensive than the BRP version.

The most popular we have is the Big Bike Parts Version. For the price you can't go wrong.

:agree::agree::agree: ............ Every touring bike I have ever owned has had a Utopia on it .... I've tried the BRP ones and they can't compare to Utopia's ..... plus the price is a Lot less ......... Mike

I have the stock backrest with the stock seat. I got the backrest on the secondary market, so I got it at a very reasonable price. I like it just fine, but you do have to shim it on the base to change the angle slightly. No big deal, just a couple of washers, but it is something that I consider a must do.

I chose to put a Utopia on my RT. Height and angle adjustments, matching the color and stitching on the seat, all for just over $300. The BRP backrest didn’t adjust when I was looking for a backrest but that function can be added now but you are still paying $450. Your choice.

I added the rake-adjustable bracket to mine (Actually: BrentC added them for me...). It really made it MUCH easier to get comfy! :2thumbs:

I went with the Utopia...My ship date is April 9th. I am looking forward to installing it. I hope it is not to difficult.

Your seat should have a knock out that comes out, then you need to get the OEM back rest to fit in it and it also comes with the mount that goes on the bottom of the seat

OEM backrest, after looking at my dollars for a year I sprung for the BRP backrest and it is very comfortable.

The BRP Backrest is what I installed. :coffee: The instructions made for a very easy DIY option for me.
