• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

DPS recall

An Update

I was at the dealer today so I asked the service manager about this. Turns out it must be a problem affecting only a limited batch of DPS units. If you have DPS problems have your dealer check with BRP. The DPS unit from my bike was defective. If it wasn't, they would have returned it to the dealer and told them to put it back into the machine! There is no TSB or recall, at least not yet. In this case the communication was all by email.

BRP apparently is receiving a lot of "defective" parts that are not defective. Joe said 98% of defective computers, the ECU, that are being sent to BRP are in fact not defective. The service person misdiagnosed the problem. I think we can look forward to BRP clamping down on warranty claims. Joe said all parts replaced under warranty are sent to BRP for inspection and/or rebuilding. If they are not defective, the dealer (maybe customer also?) gets to eat the associated costs.

Another reason to make as sure as you can the person who services your machine is truly competent to do so.

Yup! That was the BIG recall; they brought every 2008, 2009, and 2010 machine in, so that they could replace the DPS units..
I have a 2010 RTS SE5 and it is currently in the shop for a DPS issue. Where is the recall notice posted? My dealer said he can't find a recall. Can anyone provide a link to this recall?

There is no recall notice nor tech service bulletin. The service manager at my dealership got an email from BRP. Your dealer needs to call or email BRP to ask about specific DPS. He'll need to provide the serial number off the DPS.

Edit: Oops, I goofed. Failed to see the reference to the 2010s in the comment about the big recall. Yes, there should be a bulletin or recall notice for that one although it will be something like 4 or more years old.
