• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

DPS + Check Engine Light

Rode my 2011 RT-S on a 220 mile mountain loop about 2 weeks ago. Parked it in the garage and watched it rain for the last two weeks. Fired it up today and I got a DPS warning (dynamic power steering I assume) in conjunction with a check engine light. Rode it around the block and it seems the DPS is not working. Anybody have a similar problem? The machine only has 5000 miles on it. THANKS!

I had that issue after switching to led taillights. Does removing the key for a few minutes get it to reset? It always did with my problem.

The problem is a bad DPS unit. My dealer informed me it would be $1130 for the part and $486 to install - $1616 to repair a machine that only has 6000 miles on it. I wrote BRP and guess what? They will not help in any way. To add insult to injury the part has been on order for a week and is not at the dealer yet. I am told that this part only ships from Canada and takes awhile to clear customs. Who the heck designed that system? If I had almost any other brand such parts would be stocked in the USA and be available in one day. Is this what I should expect from BRP and are there other premature reliability issues facing me? Folks, I am serious in asking these questions. I am retired and on a fixed income. I cannot afford to many more of these bills. If similar issues await me this RT-S is for sale. THANKS!!!

And thanks for letting me vent!

have you checked battery voltage? The dps draws a lot with time. Could be time for a new battery as you have a 2011
