• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Downshifting the RTS SE5

A couple of times when I have been manually downshifting my SE5, I happened to be shifting right before the engine was going to do it on its own, so I end up going down TWO gears, NOT a good thing if I wasn't going to STOP! Has anyone else had this happen and what did you do?Sometimes when I am slowing down, I just want to have more engine power when I will need to accelerate soon thereafter.

Is it just easier to let the machine downshift itself, since that is what it is made to do?

Thanks, Dana

If you intend to downshift manually, I think you just need to get used to doing it a little sooner...at a higher rpm. This should prevent the rpm from passing the shift point and inadvertently shifting twice. The higher rpm will help you with the acceleration. The Spyder...and especially the RT, likes some revs.

I find it best to put it in "trailer mode". While you're moving hit the mode button 4 times and then hit the select button once to the left. You'll find that it will downshift sooner and upshift around 4600 rpm's.
