• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

dog says no to his kennel

When they get their minds made up about something--that's just the way it is. Thanks for posting. My last dog was a husky and she was a real sweetheart. I got her because she was fired from a dog sled team. That is what she would do when it was time to hitch up.

Not knowing the dog or it's personality; I'd be a touch nervous pushing the issue
That's a BIG dog, with equally large teeth!
Our Tink gumbles at bedtime also; but she's only four pounds; we just laugh! :D

Well..!!

they can be expressive..also can warn you so I would be careful if you don't know him...:lecturef_smilie:

You may find this interesting:

Our above mentioned husky was a real people person (except for three instances ). She growled at interview candidates as PCA's for our disabled daughter. This happened on three separate occasions. The first one dropped the daughter about a week later. The second one ran her into the wall and broke her ankle. Both ended up getting fired on the spot. Foxy had an uncanny ability to read people. The third one was not hired.

:agree: It's amazing just how well they can sense the character of an individual.
Back in the late nineties; we had a Scottish Terrier...
"Scottie" came to work with us every day. It took just one day to teach him that the folks coming in, were in fact allowed...
He spent six years laying on the couch, and wagging his tail at our clients. Folks used to stop in just to bring him food...
(The lucky sucker got an entire Roast Beef sandwich one day!! :yikes:)
In those years; he only barked at ONE client... a man that was very well-know around Town for his mean and miserable disposition...:gaah:
One day; we had a client come in, who had suffered a house fire.
He was visibly agitated.
Scottie walked over, and just sat next to him...
Gradually; a hand slipped down and started petting
The poor fellow started to calm down...
That little dog was able to do what we could not... make the guy feel better just by being there!
(And I STILL miss that great companion!)

dogs

maxx.jpgmaxx 2.jpg

This is Maxx. He was wolf/husky hybrid. I trained him to guard my wife and daughter. We warned all of the day workers for our daughter to stay clear of him. One day one of the workers was outside with Amanda. Amanda went over to Maxx's area and flopped on the ground, The worker, not thinking, went over to get Amanda up and Maxx nailed her. He was at the limit of his chain so all he did was tear her blouse and leave a nice bruise on her arm. I heard the scream and ran out in time to see the worker coming up the steps holding her arm. She apologized for forgetting. We paid her for a new blouse although she refused to take anything. He was a great dog. He nailed me one day while I was playing with Amanda. I was pretending to smack her on her behind and he got me on the elbow joint. Not real hard but hard enough to let me know. He would not bark unless something really bothered him. In other words, if he was barking I better be looking. He never wanted to come in the house. As a pup he would howl until I put him outside. You can see him howling in the second picture. He was a big boy as you can see by the paw in the first picture. He weighed 115 lbs. He died about 7 years ago. I found him one evening behind the shed when I went to feed him. He was 14 years old when he died.

It Wasn't The Kennel, This Time . . .

My dog wasn't saying no to the kennel . . . but its been snowing all day. I have a short, male dog. As the snow started to get deeper, he started asking to go out . . . and would look out the door and turn around and go back in. I had to shovel a path, and an area for him to do that circling thing dogs do when they do doo! After I shoveled this, he went out and emptied . . . and emptied . . . and emptied . . . he'd been holding it rather than drag in the snow! Smart dog! Snow Path.jpg

my dogs

my two lil girls love the snow, today i cleared a big area in the yard so they can go out and the first thing they did was jump in the snow and play in it. DOGS ARE JUST GREAT
