• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

does this only happen in alaska

Not bad John. You not only got to see Alaska, but all that stuff was in my neighborhood as well. I don't know the people in the video though.

Thanks..!!

great tour...looks amazing at that time of year not at all what we tend to think...

 Two questions:
Is this real?
If so; what is the scientific explanation for it?
I've skipped a quarry-full of rocks in my day; NEVER heard anything like that... :dontknow:

Well Bob, the scientific explanation which explains the sound changing pitch is merely the Doppler effect.
The attendant echo is the sound reflecting from the ice and bouncing off the surrounding landscape....
Well...you did ask!! :roflblack:

Don't know about the quarry sounds. The comments below the video were both pro and con. Have never tried skipping rocks over ice so cannot verify.
