• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Do these actually work?

beads

i know a few people that change their own tires and swear by them, they settle in the bottom of the tire when stopped but people say they move around until they balance the tire when riding.

beads

i am sure you will find pros and con's about them but my friends like them do more research on them

Dyna Beads

I've used Dyna Beads to balance my motorcycle tires for the last several years. Never had any noticeable wheel oscillations or abnormal wear.
On the down side, feels like it takes forever to feed them into the tire through the valve stem.

You betcha' they work!!!
I use in all of my vehicles, car SUV, 3 trailers, Honda Rune and Spyder.
They will not fix Spyder tire problem (wobbling) until you replace the tires

KYSPYDER

I had my wheels powder coated and never balanced the front tires (with anything) they are completely fine until about 65-70 MPH then I get a small wobble. I would not mind trying these but can someone explain why ppl are saying they work but the video posted above states otherwise?

They are great for balancing an empty plastic bottle. I wish I had a plastic bottle that I could take down the road for spin! :banghead:

beads

I have used beads for a lot of years with good results but it is cheaper to have them spin balanced.I have heard of people who use art sand from a hobby shop which is cheaper,One of my ridding buddies has been a truck driver most of his life and he claimes he has used golf balls in his truck tires. He just drops them in when he has the tire mounted.

If you put 1oz weight inside the lip of a frisbee and threw it you would notice that the weighted part would become the center of the spin and the lighter portion of the frisbee would swing outwards and that is where the extra weight (from the beads) would find and then you would have an evenly balanced spinning frisbee. That's how the beads balance the tires. A similar idea is used in centrifugation. They place a device on top of chemically filled unbalanced rotor and as it spins the top piece finds the sweet spot and you have a perfectly balance rotor. ( a rotor is a thing that you put test tubes into at a specific angle then into a machine to spin and separate materials) different from a brake rotor.
