• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

disconnected JB pro and check engine light is now on ?

i have the JB pro with the yoshi 77 pipe and k&n air filter -- set on 2 -- i get a pop on every shift -- downshifting is no problems -- worse pop when its cold -- shifts nicer with less pop at 4000 rpm -- at 6000 and above get a louder pop -- tried moving the setting and it helped some -- but just a real pain in the azz -- wish i had the money to dyno it .. very embarrassing when trying to show off .

I disconected the JB just to see if it would run better -- it shifted great , no popping , ran fine -- but after about a half mile -- the check engine light came on -- thats where i am at right now -- so i guess i will pull the battery cable and hook the JB back up and just keep messing with the dials --

any help would be great -- thanks

When you say you disconnected the JB pro, do you mean you removed it and hooked wires back up to each injector? If all you did was disconnect the power, it will cause a light. If you took it all the way off the bike, check your injector wires to make sure the plugs seated right.

i just pulled the injector wires off to see if it would run without the JB -- because i have heard of guys running without it just fine -- and trying to get rid of the shift pop is getting old .

the wires seemed to be seated good -- if they werent the bike would of ran so nice -- correct ?

i just hooked the JB back on and have the battery disconnected -- just waiting for 30 minutes to pass so i can see if the check engine light will stay off .. i think i would rather keep playing with the dials than having a check engine light on.

maybe someone can clear up the how to dial the JB in for me -- you have a plus and minus on 3 dials -- low , med and high -- how do i know how much to turn the dials and which ones -- i have just been turning a click here and there -- i have been able to tell some improvement , but i dont want to hurt the motor .

check engine light stayed off ..

kept going up and down the road , stopping and adjusting til i got the pop just about gone. i just never made the time to keep out there adjusting and adjusting ..

ended up running best with all the dial turned all the way clockwise and set on 2 .. .. pretty much destroyed the dials doing it -- stupid plastic little things -- what a cheap design ..

i will have to see how it runs in the morning -- cold ... thats when it pops the most ..

definately have to dyno when i can afford it -- i didnt expect to lose my job in june -- but new job now and hopefully back on track .

Try this

Remove the jb
, plug all wires back on factory setting, then disconnect the battery for 30min, reconnect battery, and run the bike. Thisshould help...rgds

I have a stupid question. I installed a Two Brothers exhaust, but never disconnected the battery, as I saw recommended here. I do have popping when down shifting. Will disconnecting battery help? I tried putting stock exhaust back on, but ruined the gasket in the process, so TB pipe is back on again.

Might as well try it and see if it helps .

I am gonna have to wait a couple days due to the possible rains , but if mine doesn't stop popping I will try to disconnect the JB and this time the battery too before I put it back to factory . I am just trying not to hurt the motor ..

Can Am machines are all so temperamental :banghead:
