• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Did my own oil change

Well today was a first for me to do an oil change on a 2015 RTS. I must say that it went way better than I thought. Had no problem removing the mirror. I always worry about breaking something when removing the mirror assembly but it came off pretty easy. Removing the necessary panels was a piece of cake. I used wheel ramps to get the Spyder higher so to be able to crawl under it. Located the first drain plug on the left hand side and loosened it and let it drain slowly, which took probably an half hour. I didn't take it completely out until the oil stopped. Then moved over to the right side and located that drain plug and just loosened it and let it drain and then completely removed it. Then onto the oil filter which also pretty easy. I didn't have a metric socket but I think it was an 1 7/16 socket that fit good enough. Unscrewed it and pulled out the filter. Easy , peacy. I bought gold drain plugs and bought my oil change kit from BajaRon. Installed the new drain plugs and oil filter along with new rubber O-rings and filled it up with 4.5 quarts of Amsoil. Crank it up and let it run 10-15 minutes and then checked the oil and added .5 quart to get to the max line. Total time a little over 2 hours. But I was in no hurry. If anyone is scared to do an oil change, I'd encourage you to try it, it really isn't that hard of a deal. I did watch a video that someone had posted on here doing an oil change and that really helped my a lot on where the oil drain plugs were and also where the oil filter was, and what panels to remove.:yes::yes:

ALWAYS NICE TO HEAR WHEN SOMEBODY DOES THEIR OWN WORK, AND HAD A GOOD TIME DOING IT......
i did an oil change on my F3 last week, and actually fell asleep while lay'n on the floor.... age does that to us old folks... :roflblack:
only thing is, now i have to bring the old oil to the disposal site... but it's either that or take my SPYD3R to the dealer for the oil change... and they are further from me than the disposal site... PLUS, i saved $109 per hr in labor by doing it myself.....

hope you have more HAPPY ENCOUNTERS with your SPYD3R in the future....
