• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Delayed starter response

I noticed that are times when I hit the starter button, there is a delay prior to the starter engaging. "Boot-up" has done it's thing, Mode button was engaged. Helmet on head and secured tightly, SM5 in "N", clutch engaged, parking brake set...

Has anyone else experienced this issue. or am I going to be the test tube baby under the micro-scope:banghead:

Yes I have had that to happen at times. Almost make me think that the button not making good connection when pressed....???
But not all the time. No rime or reason when it will do that.

Happens to me also, but not all the time.
Press it a second time and it fires right up.
I will mention it to our tech when I have the 6000 mile service done.
Until then keep riding.

I'm guessing it is dirt and grime. Spydette is a 24/7 rider, so it only takes a break when she's working or sleeping. 18K her 1st year. I'm going to open it up and spray some electrical cleaner in there and see if that resolves the issue. Battery voltage is good, checked it the other day when servicing it at our shop.

No doubt she'll keep riding..

I had Spydette bring her Spyder out to the shop t'day. I removed the assembly and exposed the Start button. I noticed it is in a rubber boot. I flooded it with Brake Parts Cleaner. Lubricated the twistgrip with Cable lube and re-assembled. So far no hesitation. I did notice the housing was a tad-bit dusty inside. Time will tell.
