• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dealers You Don't Want To go To

Why in the world would anyone buy a warranty, when you can not even get your :spyder2: worked on when its still under factory warranty. These guys THE SPORT CENTER 114 2nd Ave SW Cullman AL 35055 Phone 256 734 7636 that I paid closet to 20 thousand for this :spyder2:. Toll me to to bring it up after the riding season and he would get to it when he could. Ask them to just adjust the belt, said to bring it up and maybe he could get to it in two weeks. Went on a trip to Halen GA. Went in limp home mode, stopped at a dealer in Cartersville GA, Extreme Propulsion 734A Joe Frank Harris Pky. He check it and said it was a wheel sensor, turned out to be a lose wire, but he said he would order me one and replace any way, also asked him to order the new fan with the shroud, he did and BPR approved it. Parts came in so I ask when can bring it up, he said bring it up and leave it, that's 400 mile trip for me. He complained that he makes no money on any parts order under warranty and that BPR only pays the menial labor cost for replacing parts. So if they do not want to service the :spyder2: under warranty why would they be selling them. :dontknow:

I think it may be due to the nature of the BRP contract with dealers. If you want to sell ATV's SeaDoo's etc, You must also sell SPyders. Plus thay have to commit to some level of quantity inventory on each.

Sport Center

This is the dealer that I bought my first Spyder from. No problems with them at all! Since I was not there I do not know what happen with you. Maybe just maybe they did not understand your Problem. Joe, one of the owners, runs the shop and has always treated me well. In fact has saved me $$$ by his advice. just 2 cents worth.... Better luck with you other dealers.

The Sports Center is our dealer too, both SpyderCrazy and I purchased our SE5's there. In fact they make our 4th and 5th purchases from The Sports Center.

I had been having intermittent shifting problems, but did not want to miss summer riding, so put off taking it in. No problem downshifting, only up. I would press the shift button.....no shift. Press again, maybe shift or maybe not. Each time it failed to shift I would see a scrolling message about a transmission error. I checked the codes and it was getting a PO826, surprise, transmission shift error. Over the next week or two the problem became much worse and I was soon seeing errors more and shifting less.

Checking the service manual, I reseated the TCM cable and verified things as best I could. I checked the switches per the manual and found the up switch (pin 24 to pin 14) had a resistance of closer to 4.6 ohms, significantly higher than the 2 ohm maximum specified. Reading the troubleshooting procedure, I quickly determined I did not have the skill (or desire) needed.

Last week I left my Spyder with Joe. The shop was packed, but within a couple of days they had it in to run diagnostics. By the next day they had determined that it was the shift switch itself that had gone bad and had ordered the part.

The part came in yesterday (took about 3 business days) and Mike worked his magic today, installing the switch and putting all the tupperware back on. Joe called around noonish and I picked Spydie up after work.

No problems at all driving home which was a big improvement, but it needed more testing to be sure the problem was gone. About dark, I freed up and gave the SE5 a real test, driving about 30 miles. Most of which was around town where I shifted up and down again and again in an attempt to create a failure. The local Sheriff followed me for several miles, probably because of my constant acceleration and deceleration. No problemo!

I now feel I was having this problem for longer than I knew. After being repaired, I found shifting to be very quick. I was chirping the tire not only from standstill and first to second, but noticed it from second to third as well on quick acceleration. I supposed I will have to ease off the throttle

My thanks to Joe and the team!

I stopped into Extreme Propulsion on a trip in March with a screwed up clutch lever 3/4 way through my trip.

They had me in and out of there in 1 hour flat, clutch assembly fixed. I was treated extremely well. I had called them two hours before I arrived to explain my situation.

I do think dealers prioritize service for those of us on the long road trips, and I suppose that is appropriate when they can do it.

Extreme Propulsion went out of their way to help me that day and they were the only dealer within hundreds of miles that was open on a Monday.

So I don't know what to tell you... Perhaps you caught them on a bad day.:dontknow:

I guess with just about any dealer, if you drive in from out of town with a problem, they will drop all their local customers and get on yours. That's why it takes so long for us locals to get our rides fixed.
Here's a thought, next time it breaks, trailer it a couple hundred miles away, drive it into a dealer and they will jump right on it. Should have done that myself. My dealer has been working on Sea-doo boats for this weekend.
