Well the day started out with a ride back to the dealership with dltang on the back to pick up her Spyder from it's 600 mile service. It was cool (mid 40's) and drizzling but still an enjoyable ride. I did start making plans to get some kind of heat for my fingers though. Probably some heated gloves. I had on winter, leather gloves and they were good for the first ten miles but the next 30 were uncomfortable and the last two miles approached miserable. [cue the blue icicle smiley ;D ] dltang has got me wanting a new helmet like her new HJC carbon fiber one. Man that thing is light and I like the vent controls. They seem easy to manipulate with gloves on.
When we got back home and my fingers warmed up, I put the side panel trim kit on my Spyder. I want to thank those of you who posted tips as to how to get that gasket to stay on as they really helped. I ended up enlisting the wife to help hold the gasket in place for the final little bit of stretching it on as it was continually wanting to pop off the opposite side when I was trying to do it on my own. I was just slightly surprised that it stayed on as well as it did once it was all in place cuz up until that point, if the slightest bit of it was off, at least a quarter of it was popping off. I think it looks pretty good and dltang gave it her approval. It kind of matches the matte black of the seat.
If it wasn't continuing to rain and we weren't expecting a delivery, we would have went to the local bike parts superstore to do a little shopping and dreaming. We have decided that we are going to place a mirror extension and rad. cover order this week along with 3 or 4 items from evoluzion, the J&M Intergrator for sound and communications and probably the F1 windshield from Marcel. That will bust our Spyder budget for the year. :spyder:
