So after a hearty lunch with the Anarchists in Lakeland, I rode 220 miles down to Hollywood Fl, with Doc, Forrest and Ricardo to La Vendetta, a Romanian/Italian restaurant.
What a great place, their bread is delicious, the attention was superb and the food was really, really fulfilling (if you get my drift). Good, honest, no nonsense fares from the old continent.
I had Doc's favorite Ciorba de Burta (tripe soup) and I'm here to tell you it was excellent. Then I had Ficatei de Pui (chicken liver) and Polenta, sadly I could not finish it all being a very large portion. I washed everything down with a cold and strong Romanian beer, and for dessert Doc ordered Papanasi, a very tasteful Mediterranean sweet treat you will not find on the Lean Cuisine menu.
I could not sleep last night, but it was well worth it LOL. I had a great time with dear friends and Doc is not only a record holder, but a most gracious host.
I'm up for da Romanian experience anytime. Thank you Doc.
