i just put some on my RS, assuming thats what model we are talking about. I put on the easy risers ($130) and for those you do have to cut the bars. i mean you really dont but if you leave the original bars on there too its going to look stupid. There is a can am riser that is only about an inch you dont have to modify anything but doesnt give you much lift. There is another option i think its kewlmetal risers but they are like 350 and you had to relocate the ignition. I still would really like it to come back more to give me a more RT feeling but its a major improvement over stock.
I did not have to relocate the ignition when I installed my KewlMetal risers. I did have to cut about 6" off the ends of the existing bars though.
Do you have to cut the handlebars to install risers or can you leave them on?... thanx, jim
What model spyder are we talking about and who's risers. Some you do and some you don't..:dontknow:
What year??????
I have a 2013 RS SM5.... I've seen pics on the Cee Baileys tall windshield site with a red RS and the OEM bars not cut off and 4" risers installed and thought maybe I should think about it so I could reverse the install if I ever wanted too.... if you click on the side view pics you can see the OEM black bars still in place.... maybe a good spot to hang your helmet or jacket?... jim

On the 13's you can swap out with oem st bars or rt bars. Thet are interchangeable:yes:
Get some scap bars or 7/8" pipe and use that cutting to size (there are some holes to drill for mounting) that way saving the originals for reuse...replacement bars are $49.95 each...
I too did the EZrisers and the instructions are to cut off the original bars. However, thankfully someone that did the risers suggested leaving them an inch longer for mounting a Ram mount there if you wanted. What a great idea that I would have never thought about that until it was too late. They look ok with that extra inch on them. IMO by the time you are going to sell, the idea/need to go backwards will just be too much work and you won't do it. Been there done that with a couple of cars.
