• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Here are some pictures of the custom speaker pods my made for my 2013 Spyder RS. The speakers are 5.25" Polk Audio marine speakers, pods are made from 5" schedule 40 PVC caps. The are mounted to a custom made steel plate that lays over the dash. The system is powered by a 100 watt amp that is mounted in the frunk. I am using a 7th generation iPod Nano for the music/radio.

Thanks! As I said, I think they turned out pretty good for the first shot at designing them. There are a couple of things I would change looking back, but otherwise I'm happy with them. They sound pretty good even at 110 mph lol......:D

did you say 110 mph?

i thought so.:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: you're a baaaad boy.:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I would love to copy your system if you don't mind. Can you give t\me the tech stuff for making the metal bracket and how they attach. Thank you.

There is not much to it really. I took a sheet of 3/16" steel and rolled it to match the contour of the dash. Then I rolled the ends up just to have a support for the PVC caps. I drilled 2 holes through the plate and caps and used 1/4" carriage bolts to bolt together. Then I drilled a hole just big enough to get the speaker wires through. At this time I have it mounted to the dash with Industrial Velcro. I may change that later down the road. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

Amplifier

I know you using a 7th gen NANO. Are you using an amplifier, if so 2 or 4 channel and what is the watts? 100-250-300??

So far so good with the speakers! They have been beaten around for a couple thousand miles, in the rain several times, have been blasted with volume & bugs and they are still working fantastic.
