My :spyder2: was leaking antifreeze all over the floor so I decided to take it apart and see why. It was the coolent reservoir. A crack had formed in the side facing into the bike. It looked like it was leaking from the bottom before I took it apart. With all the panels off I could see it spraying fluid out the side of the tank and into the air intake for the airbox. It was also dripping down the side, which is why it appeared to be leaking from the bottom.
While I was in there I noticed that the line going into the fuel filter on the same side did not seem to be on all the way. When I went to check it, it just popped off. The fuel line just slipped off, and was about to come off on its own. The clamp was loose enough for it to just slide off the end of the hose. :sour:
I guess since I didn't end up as a fireball on the highway I should be glad, but I would strongly suggest everyone take of the panels on the right side of your bike and check all the fittings on the fuel lines.
I have contacted the dealer, but they don't seem interested. I think checking for these kind of problems is up to the owners. I am sure if the dealer had looked at my leak, I would have ended as a pile of ashes blowing down the highway.:yes:
