• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Corbin Seat Install

I received my Corbin seat today. Did the install which was fairly simple but for the life of me I cannot get the front locking pin to lock down in the latch. I was actuallty slightly jumping on the seat (on my knees and big 'ol butt) with no success The rear seat pin was a bear to get to lock but after several turns with a wrench on the pin making it 'slightly longer' I was finally able to get it to lock.

What is the trick to getting the front pin to lock? :yikes: :dontknow:

Thanks for any info.

The pin has a screw base and, if I recall correctly, has a lock nut on it. Loosen that lock nut and rotate the pin (might need a wrench) counter-clockwise to raise it. Find the right position which locks and then tighten the nut.

Thanks,

I did loosen (lengthen) it some but I guess not enough. I'll give it another try tomorrow.

2 Turns

Jeez I was struggling with it last night. Today I go out and all it took was 2 more turns of the wrench (11mm) and it closes and locks like a charm.

I took my pin off. :doorag:

Kind of like the old "shock absorber" thingy, huh?

You aren't afraid of falling off? :yikes: :D

That's the kind of grief I got when I "invented" the seat pin mod over on the VTX forum. Now, folks all over the world are doing it and not falling off, either.

I have a question about the shock absorber thingy... Is it really needed? My Corbin seat came with a prop type doo-dad with a rubber bumper attached to the bottom that is used to prop the seat up. It folds out of the way when not in use. Does everyone have this? I assume so...

No, you don't need the shock. You have a newer version of the seat that uses a prop similar to one that was invented by Lamont back when he couldn't get the shock to install correctly.

Corbin copied it without even providing credit where credit is due... to Lamont.

I will be ordering a Corbin seat this month - looking forward to it!
Did the math.....I have a Corbin seat on my Sabre with 2 backrests and can move the backrests to the Spyder - that saves $500.00 - so, I get a new seat and backrest for my wife AND me for the price of the BRP sportrack and the BRP backrest.

Any one want a Sabre with all the goodies including a Corbin seat?....I heard you can buy backrests for the seat......

i have the corbin seats and 2 back rests we love them install was pretty simple and you do need to adjust the screws but that was simple to the only problem with them is my wife says that my back rest digs into her leg after a while i need to adjust my b rest and that should fix the problem [ or just leave her home ] good luck and ride safe:spyder::thumbup:
