• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Corbin seat & arm rest installation on RT

My son and I plan to install the new Corbin saddle, seat back, and arm rests on our new RT Limited this Saturday. The instructions look pretty straight forward. If anyone has any experience with this install are there any areas to be aware of that will be problems.

We did not get the heated seat option.

I had Corbin install my seat and arm rests. The seat is not too bad and you shouldn't have too much trouble. However, the armrests looked to be pretty involved. I've had to go back to Corbin twice to have the are rests reworked, but they are fine now.

With that said, I will tell you that the Corbin seat and arm rests are probably the single best mod I've made to my bike. You will love them...

Do the arm rests give you any trouble or your passenger any trouble mounting and dismounting the machine?

I sure like the look of the spider web stitching. It really makes them look good.

Since I've never ridden in the passenger seat, I'm not sure I'm competent to answer. With that said, my wife has never complained of any difficulty mounting and getting into the passenger's seat. I usually get on first. I then lean forward so that she can use my back as support with her left hand (or she will use my backrest which does collapse) and she uses the top of the passenger back rest with her right hand. Note that I did not say the armrest itself. I've had a slight issue with the armrests not being quite as secure as I would like and I have asked her not to use that when mounting.

Hope this helps.

I just did this exact install one week ago. Here is a link to some observations -issues I had. Feel free to PM me if you need any help. I'll offer any assistance I can. You will love the seat and maybe more importantly so will your passenger! http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28258

I wonder if the screws that Corbin sends with the arm rest should have a larger head? I found that as I tightened the small head embedded into the plastic of the support. I just added some flat washers and all was good. Seemed much more secure.

Steve, that is what I thought too. I just haven't had the time to get to Corbin up in Ormand Beach, Flarda, to have them address the issue. MangoMike has and he is really pleased with the outcome. Thanks for responding.

Corbin found that there was an excess of leather bunched under the arm rests on mine. They trimmed it off, reinstalled them and now they are very secure.

Since my wife is enjoying driving the Spyder, I have gotten to ride on the passenger seat. The arm rests don't hinder getting on/off at all, even for my big butt. My wife loves the arm rests and feels much more secure with them.

You bet. When you get to go to the factory, think about suggesting to them something like the OEM screws that were in the factory BRP arm rest, Corbin should adopt that larger head that we see, so their customers who have spent some serious coin don't have to "mod a mod" so to speak. :dontknow:

Ryde on Chris.
