• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Corbin Saddlebags?

I have had mine since July.....and love them. They fit alot of stuff in them and make the spyder look very nice from the back. I just got back from Gatlinburg and the 3 other guys that went with me thought so as well.....They all bought them :)

I am getting used to the look, it's even kind of growing on me. But and this is personal opinion only. I want saddlebags that I can take on and off like a piece of luggage. I want to be able to just grab the bag and head to the hotel room or where ever it is I'm headed. You can't do that with the Corbin bags. My husband has the Givi bags and rack and I also like the look of those. It is different than the Corbin look and it is a very personal preference type of thing. Also, for the budget minded, the Givi bags are about half price. I have some softside Cortech bags that I am using currently. I am however getting a Bustech Trailer and that will be a whole different story. I can pull my luggage (or my dog, as the case may be) right out of the trailer and take it to my room or campsite, etc. What it all boils down to, is this, get what you like and what accomplishes what you need to accomplish and what fits within your budget. Just my .02

Corbin saddle bags

MY wife and I love them, they look like they came from the factory and complement the Spyder. Have had many comments, all favorable. We find that the extra capacity is handy.Be sure and check the back of the bags, supposed to have a 1 1/2 inch plug one of mine did not and could take water through the felt liner.

How will the dog travel inside?
Will it have a custom hole so he can hang his head out?

Yes, they are designing a special top that I can take on and off when I use it for a dog vs. cargo. The top will have a cut out and a windshield for my German Shepherd mix dog. We will have a tie down on the inside where we can attach a leash to her harness to keep her from trying to jump out but give her enough room so she can curl up and lay down if she wants. The insides of these trailers are huge, a person can sit inside one. I am pretty excited about it. It appears Bushtec has been getting a few requests like this and they are contemplating adding this option to their accessory line. That would be nice. I have to talk to Andrew at Bushtec more and get all the details worked out but I'll keep you all posted.

does anyone have a pic of the spyder with Givi saddle bags on it?

I was contemplating getting a BUSHTEC trailer, and this sealed the deal for me!

There have been a few different posts about the GIVI bag setup. Do a search on this forum for GIVI and you should come up with multiple threads and a number of pictures.

Corbin now offers a free DVD which walks you through the installation of all their Spyder "offerings". The mechanic takes you through every step, both verbally and visually. Don't know if this DVD is packaged with each purchased item but it certainly should be. It didn't accompany my fairing but I ordered it (the DVD) separately. You can too. It's offered on their website and costs you nothing (freight is also free). Took about a week to get it if I recall. Well worth the wait.

BTW, the bracket that accompanied my fairing (which I've sent back) was substandard finish-wise. Would have rusted within weeks. My Corbin saddle bags should be arriving here in a couple of weeks and I'm hoping the finish on those brackets will outshine the fairing brackets. Can any of you tell me what yours looked like when you got your saddle bags? Worst case I'll sand them down, prime, and paint them myself before installation. Not something an end-user should have to do ... but.

Thanks.

Ken
