• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Corbin Problems

My Corbin seat arrived today, and after sweating 20 pounds off and cussing the air blue I've finally got it installed.

First observation is that Corbin's instructions suck, plain and simple. If it hadn't been for a few things I've read here I'd still be out there cussing at it. The instructions they sent with the back rest were for a different seat, and I had to figure that out on my own.

Second, I had to leave the hinge bolts a little on the loose side because when I would tighten them down the seat latch would no longer release.

Third, the seat seems to be too long and I have to really work at it to get the glove compartment lid to close, then it will not open unless I open the seat up first.

Lastly, I don't know why they had to do away with the seat hold open strut. This seat is much heavier than the OE seat, and I put a battery tender on and need to hold the seat open. I guess I'll have to make a custom seat hold open from a piece of wood dowel. That'll look good....

OK, the rant is over. I also got my ISCI drink holder in and it was a much easier install. I loved their warning about the black hole around the handlebars where screws love to go and never return, so put rags in there to keep from losing parts. That's a nice attention to detail in instructions!

If I were you I would remove the locking pin. There's really no reason to have it now seeing you have a fuel door.

Once you get rid of the pin it should fit better too.

There is a pull down arm on the seat to hold it up.

Thanks Lamont, I saw the strut but it is so stiff it refused to move for me so I never figured out what it actually was.

I'm going to take it to an upholstery shop tomorrow and get the seat fixed. Unfortunately that's not something you should have to do to a brand new $900 seat.

I kept the OE passenger back rest, and am regretting it now. There is a huge gap between the seat and the back rest. I can remove the seat hinge bolts without removing the passenger back rest now. Looking at Corbin's site it looks like their back rest has the same big gap?

Yep, same gap with the Corbin backrest.
I had an issue with my recent purchase also. Had some custom stitching ordered, seat came, no stitching.
I called Corbin and was told, after waiting 50 days that they dont take custom orders over the phone, only in person, after they took my order. Pretty sad way to handle customers in my opinion.:mad:

I agree with Lamonte about the pin. The issue with the pin on the wifes RT was it did not align. Lamonte suggested to remove it and all is well. Will be sending the seat back to Corbin to have them extend the foam forward about 3" to give better lambar support. I have also suggested that they make a filler for the gap between the back rest and the seat

All they need to do is give a passenger pillion like the original seat coming up to meet the passenger back rest.

Or they could extend the passenger back rest down to meet the seat, but that would only work if you buy their back rest.

The gap really looks horrible.
