• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Corbin Fleetliner Fairing

Has anyone out there tried one of these? If so, how well does it really work? AT $1550 I expect a totally smooth ride with very little noise. I currently have the BRP 10" touring windshield and it's useless. It does do a good job at channeling the wind strieght into my face and chest though. I also see BRP is comming out soon with another touring windshield for about $250. If I don't get any positive comments about the Corbin fairing I guess I'll go for the new windshield from BRP. But the Corbin fairing seems like it would do a better job.

Several people on this site have the Corbin fairing. I went with the CalSci XL windshield recommended by a fellow ryder. I am satisfied with it, and the cost is considerably less. I have seen a Corbin fairing installed on a Spyder at the Corbin factory in Hollister, CA. It is VERY solid. Probably will come down to your choice. There are many windshields out there.

We have the fairing and like it - its a personal thing - some like it and some don't - I especially like it at high speeds - for me it does a good job of redirecting the wind :2thumbs:

Why did you get rid of it? What in particular did you not like about it? :dontknow:

I will defer to the people who have/had them but the most common complaints are noise, fitting, and wind for taller riders. Also, it's Corbin. I have Corbin seats, backrests, and a glove box and I am not a fan of Corbin quality (or lack thereof). $1500 is waaaay too much IMO when reviews on the F1 Slider (I own and love) and Calsci are so positive.

Had one. Gave it away. What a waste of $1500.

Costs like gold, weighs like lead, worked like cr#!

Now on the positive side I liked the look of it. That is a very polarizing opinion though-some do, some don't. They will all let you know.

Fatal flaw was the wind noise. Anything over 30 MPH would make my ears ring like I had my head in the intake of a jet engine. (I am making that up since I never put my head in the intake of a jet engine) Let's just say it was intolerable noisy.

I use a F1 slider now and it performs very well. Not much on looks but function over form.
