• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Coolant leaking out of spyder airbox

COOLANT - AIRBOX

:agree:................And ,,,Sorry but I can't see anything in the Pic ........... It doesn't get any larger ........... Mike

These are unrelated component systems... the leak must be originating at another point, and ending up at the aiirbox...
Further investigation of this is needed...

And :welcome:

I'd bet your reservoir tank is cracked, which was common. As your riding it's leaking out of the pressurized tank and the intake is sucking it in.

Exactly where I landed, too. Why don't you pull the top off the air box and clean all that stuff up. Check your coolant level, check that plastic tank for a crack, and check that the cap on the tank is on correctly. Since the intake ports are directly behind that tank, it's a high probability it's getting sucked in from there.

Ok, I will review what they advise and report the result ... thank you.

Hi CALAIRC,

I had something similar on my '08 last year. Only I found coolant drops on my garage floor.

I would top up the coolant bottle then find coolant leakage when I would stop somewhere.

Once the coolant leaked to below where the crack was, it would no longer leak coolant.

It turned out to be a non-visible vertical crack in the upper 1/3 of my plastic coolant bottle.

I had it replaced and all is well with the world.

If you end up needing a new coolant tank let me know... I have a brand new spare I'll make you a deal on....

Little checking..

Three main places to check...
1. The radiator cap..tighten to the second detent
2. Radiator hose clamp.. the only adjustable one on the spyder
3. The resivouir tank..for any cracks
Any of these will blow back to the airbox snorkels...
